If you build It, I will pay you.

I know this space has been pretty dead lately, but it turns out that building/buying a house is very time consuming. If you haven't done so already, you should check out the house blog and see how things are coming... or should I perhaps say that you should see how things have come, since the house is now virtually complete. Between all the faxing and express mailing and paper signing, it's been an exceptionally busy month, but that should all be over presently. Then all I'll have to contend with is the new school year.

Class at the University start this Monday, but I've been attending meetings and seminars since the beginning of the week. For those of you who missed my bonfire of vanity over having been selected by the department as a Graduate Assistant for the fall, let me break it down for you: I have been selected as... well, I guess you already knew that part. But that means two important things for the Buckster. Firstly (and definitely most importantly), it means that I don't have to work retail anymore. No more customers. No more parade of depravity (except when I visit G$ in his Seraglio of Carnal Pleasures, but that's another matter). I'm done with that. Secondly, it means that I'm a member of the almost-faculty of the university, in that I have been assigned a cubicle in a large bull pen room of other Graduate Assistants. I have this Liar's Poker vision in my head of GAs walking around with ties tied around their heads talking outrageous amounts of smack. I know that won't happen, but it's funny to think about.

And as far as being a Graduate Assistant is concerned, well, at this point, all I have to say is that it appears to come to us from the Latin mulier canis de magister. Just you think about what that might mean in English. Just you think.
